word of the day: "bankster"

| | comments (1)

It's popping up all over the Net in discussions of the global economic meltdown: bankster. As in, bankers who are criminals the way that mobsters are.

I love it.

See BBC News for a detailed look at the usage of the word.

(word of the day/phrase of the day: I highlight a word or phrase, especially new coinages or clever usages, that tickles me)

With apologies to Stevie Wonder and Coolio: Bankster’s Paradise As I walk through the valley of the shadow of debt I take a look at my cash and realize there’s none left ‘Cause I’ve been loaning and spending so long that Even my broker thinks that my mind is gone. But I ain’t never pushed a loan that really deserved it. Me be treated like I’m junk, you know that’s unheard of You better watch how you talking and whom you’re mocking Or you and your assets might be lined in chalk. I really hate to move but I gotta lope My 401k I see going up in smoke--fool I’m the kinda schmuck little honkies want to be like On my knees in the night, saying prayers on my bank site. They been spending most their lives living in the bankster’s paradise. They been spending most their lives living in the bankster's paradise. We keep spending most our lives living in the bankster's paradise. We keep spending most our lives living in the bankster's paradise...
