hug a puppy for mummy, or something

Jesus H. Christ in a basket of puppies, but this is just about the cutest thing ever: puppycam.

I remember when Jon Stewart first came back on the air after 9/11 and we were all so sad and bewildered and stunned and simply immobile with grief, and he told his story about Where I Was That Day, and then he reached under his desk and pulled out a puppy and held it up to the camera, just held it up to the camera and didn't say a word, and it still makes me cry to think about it, because how can the world be such a fucking mess when there's puppies?

Aw fuck, there's puppies on the puppycam, and they're yawning and stretching and putting their tiny paws around each other before going back to the important work of napping. Why can we not remake the world in the image of puppies? How could that be wrong?

I think from now on, when the plunging stock market and the freaky weather and the evil Republicans and the spineless Democrats and the vile CEOs flying their corporate jets to ask for a handout and the ABC executives who cancelled Pushing Daisies and everything else bad in the world make me want to lunge for alcohol or chocolate or both, I will watch puppies instead.

Do you like cats? If you do, try icanhascheezburger.com. If I've had a rotten day I go there before going to bed-it's nice to end the day laughing.
