Florida, Texas enter the 19th century

I guess it’s a kind of time travel. From Florida:

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- The teaching standards for Florida schools include the word "evolution" for the first time, under a decision Tuesday by the state school board.

The board approved the use of the term "scientific theory of evolution" in public schools science standards.

And from Texas:

FORT WORTH, Texas — A federal appeals court has overturned a Texas statute outlawing sex toy sales, leaving Alabama as the state with the strictest ban on such devices.

Poor Alabamans. Come on into the modern world, the water’s fine!

It does baffle me that a law banning the sale of sex toys could possibly hold up anywhere. But I guess sodomy was illegal in about 39 states until just a few years go, so.. Christ, what depressing thoughts. We're so fucking insane as a nation. Here's a hint to any new nations potentially forming out there: Don't get founded by Puritans. In a similar vein, did you see this article a little bit ago about the expose a TV station ran in Mississippi where they caught an adult store illegally selling sex toys? What an idyllic community they must live in if that was the worst scandal the news could find to report on.
"The board approved the use of the term "scientific theory of evolution" in public schools science standards." And people ask why we moved from Florida!?!? Because we didn't want the munchkin to be brainwashed!!!
