Museum of Ignorance: witchcraft in the 21st century

Speaking of Harry Potter...

Apparently the fictional exploits of the boy wizard are good for flushing delusional morons out of our educational systems:

A primary school teaching assistant refused to let a child read a Harry Potter book because she was afraid of the spells, a tribunal heard today.

Assistant Sariya Allan, 47, believed her spirit would have been harmed if she had to listen to a seven-year-old read from the JK Rowling book.

The born-again Christian told the pupil: "I don't do witchcraft."

It makes you wonder how these idiots can function in the modern world, doesn’t it?

She was suspended by the school and said that she resigned on July 21 last year as she felt "harassed, humiliated, and discriminated" against. Hmmm...what's a good way to celebrate the anniversary of her resignation...
Good thing that Chuck Palahniuk's Lullaby isn't on the list of reading materials. I'd hate for someone to think there really is such a thing as a culling song... a sequence of words that kills if read to someone or if even thought at someone. (The truth, of course, is that there is such a thing as a culling song. I have it safely locked away at home with my copy of Monty Python's "killer joke".)
