geek/dork/nerd: the-spy-who-loved-me edition

The spy who loved me? Don’t I wish! Check out my piece on Film.com about how Daniel Craig really is Generation X’s first James Bond, then my review of the film, which focuses on its geekiness.

Here’s the new Bond, DangerMouse, and Rowan Atkinson’s Johnny English.

Definitely looking forward to Casino Royale! My favorite Bond film of the post-Connery era (taking into account that I've not seen any Dalton films or two of the Brosnan ones) has been Goldeneye, which I liked partly for the pretty-Brosnan factor (I've drooled over him ever since the first ep of Remington Steele), but mostly for the way Brosnan played him as a cold, steely-eyed killer (with the occasional quip--"No, no, no! No more foreplay!"). Oh, and also for the Sean Bean villain, who I thought was one of the better Bond villains since Auric Goldfinger.
