Man, I never even finished my WorldCon reporting and now more conventions are upon me. I’ll be at Philcon in Philadelphia next weekend, November 17-19, doing panels about science fiction/fantasy film and TV, hanging out at the bar and parties, and generally making a public nuisance of myself. I won’t be hosting a party, alas -- the party rooms were all booked by the time I was invited to the convention -- but I will be carrying around copies of my book The Totally Geeky Guide to The Princess Bride to sell and autograph.
I haven’t been to Philcon in a few years, since it moved from November to December -- that was just too close to Christmas and too smack in the middle of too much else going on at that time of the year. But now that it’s back in November, I can make it again, and I’m looking forward to it.
Then, in the new year, I’ll be at Arisia (January 12-14) and Boskone (February 16-18), both in Boston. Parties are definite possibilities for both cons, and of course I’ll be doing the usual panels, etc.
At all three cons I will be accompanied by my friend Bonnie-Ann Black, artist, writer, all-around Renaissance woman. Bonnie will be showing her art in the art show at each con (check out her work here) and flogging her fiction, some of which can be found in the anthology Watching Time and more of which can be downloaded from Forbidden Publications.
I’d still like to finish up telling you about WorldCon. Let’s see what kind of time I have before Philcon...
