Battlestar Galactica returns tomorrow, and now I’m hooked. So, here’s Kara Thrace, Galen Tyrol, and Gaius Baltar. *hiss*

(Thanks to Cate for the topic suggestion.)

Yay for new BSG!! I got hooked on it last year, after watching most of the episodes from the first half of the second season just prior to the return of the second half of the season. I finally Netflixed the miniseries/first season DVDs over the summer to get caught up on the show. Deck Chief Tyrol is a bit of a dork (my favorite line of his was when Kara brought back the Cylon raider and before inspecting it for the first time, he told it, "Your ass is mine"), but Resistance Tyrol looks to be a damn sexy hunk of a leader, what with the slightly greying full beard and all. Baltar is a wonderfully weaselly nerd, and Callis plays his torment/weakness brilliantly. I'm also looking forward to seeing the rest of the cast, especially the terrific eye candy on display with all the manflesh (for those of us liking the men) and underwear models (for those who like the women). My vote for prettiest BSG man is Tahmoh Penikett as Karl "Helo" Agathon--that man's Native American heritage (his mother is of the Dene people in the Northwest/Yukon Territory) gave him incredible cheekbones! Speaking of underwear models, the actress who has impressed me more than any other cast member (mostly because I did not expect much out of her other than the ability to slink attractively in revealing attire) has been Tricia Helter as Six. You can tell just from looking at her reaction which incarnation of Six she is portraying at any particular time--her look at Baltar in last season's finale, when she and the other Cylons entered Colonial One for Baltar's surrender was so filled with emotion that I really felt for her!
I'm glad you've been converted, I remember you lambasting the miniseries back in the day.
I thought you were rather unenthused about the series, MaryAnn. What turned you around?
BSG fans should watch this video over at the official site, because it's one of the funniest things I've seen recently: A New Crew In Town -- http://www.scifi.com/battlestar/video/index.php?cat=features&vid=35344
Hey! I left a comment of excitement for Cate and then it disappeared. Here's a repeat: Cate is GREAT! what a fabulous idea - and I think I'm gettin' this Geek/nerd stuff better now...
Wanna learn about my conversion to *Battlestar Galactica* geekiness? See my posting at the new Film.com...
HA! I knew it could only be a matter of time before you were hooked...
