Free comic book day

Libertygirl

Liberty Girl, who is apparently America's bronze goddess of freedom -- not to be confused with me, America's pale goddess of geekiness -- reminds us that this Saturday, May 6, is Free Comic Book Day. C'mon, hook someone normal and boring on comics!

okay so we have come far in this country when a half naked chick in front of the white house can hawk free comic books to kids.. seriously though since when do kids these days read comics... for gen Y its mostly video games and sms texting -lightbulb- someone should come up with cell phone comic books.. in fact thinking back to my own youth, we never read many comic books seriosly either,I think a lot of current geek pop nostalgia goes back to saturday morn/after school cartoons which were comic book substitutes of their day -and as the upcoming 'transformers' movie suggests so did a lot of other people in my age group To be honest i would rather watch a good comic book adapted as a *good* movie then actually read the comic itself
seriously though since when do kids these days read comics... === Who says only kids read comix? I bet most people reading them today are over 25. Which doesn't mean that there aren't people over 25 who could do with an introduction to them. :->
I'm 21, and I keep up on a couple titles a month. I have a friend that's 27 and he gets stacks of comics every week. So yeah, most people I know who are into comics are over 25.
"I bet most people reading them today are over 25." This is very much true - and one of the problems Free Comic Book Day is trying to address, in fact - "Where are the *new* readers coming from?"
