Friday plant blogging: soothing aloe vera my foot

Audreyvera

I'm not the kind of person who names her plants, as much as I love them. I also don't talk to them. But if I were and if I did, this monstrous aloe vera plant would be Audrey II, and I would say extra special nice sweety things to it, because I suspect it's in cahoots with the scary-big out-of-control jade tree to overthrow my benevolent rule of the apartment.

I'm stunned that you can have so many plants *in the open* in your home with the flock of cats also in residence. The only green thing that stands alone in our house is an 8-foot-tall corn plant (and don't think that one of our cats hasn't attempted to climb it...).
The cats leave the plants alone, actually. This was not always the case: Cassie's sister, Andie, who died in 1998, was an inveterate attacker of plants -- I could never have greenery in the house until after she was gone.
MAJ, if it were me, I would say extra special nice sweety things to it in any case, as aloe plants provide salve to apply to fingers when you (or invitees) suffer exotic injuries via cooking utensils, and the feng shui of a properly placed jade plant will make sure your book sells well. We're all accustomed to you having the consummate last word, but that aloe looks LARGE - at least consider the suggestions this time.
I think you'd get a kick out of this site: http://www.automatedredemption.com/flavorcountry/dogblog/ A guy in San Francisco posts pictures of dogs he sees in the streets. He's definitely a geek, and has some pretty funny commentary.
