Not that there’s anything wrong with that

George Takei, who as helmsman Sulu steered the Starship Enterprise through three television seasons and six movies, has come out as a homosexual in the current issue of Frontiers, a biweekly Los Angeles magazine covering the gay and lesbian community.

This is nice for George, but, c’mon:

Sulu

It’s not like we didn’t know.

I’m not saying I have any inside information or anything, but watch for special announcements coming soon from:

i'm happy for him. the timing seems a little odd, but who cares. and yeah. that 3CPO - what a flamer! =)
I concur with you regarding all except Snoopy, unless you are of the view that all male friendships are inherently bi-curious.
I'd never given it a thought where George is concerned (btw, he is totally hot in real life), but that was a definite 'd'oh!' moment for me. And where's the picture of Archer and Trip? Cuz those two are totally gettin' it on.
And let's not forget Appollo on the new Battlestar Galactica. No way is he straight. Way to go, Capt. Sulu!
Well, I didn't know. But then like most straight males, my gaydar is notoriously bad.
Hmmm... shouldn't the picture of Peppermint Patty (who was notoriously hot for Charlie Brown) be replaced with a picture of Schroeder (who was a sensitive artist and totally ignored Lucy and indeed, anyone but his piano)? Then again, call me a heathen, but I'd like to see Charles Schultz's slot on the comics page be given over to an up-and-coming talent. He was a terrific cartoonist, yes... but... and I hate to be the bearer of bad news... he's dead. For quite a while now.
C3PO, gay? Nahhh....he's just a nancy droid...
